Simple Selections: Sky Select
As an extension to its already efficient Subject Selection feature, we now have a Sky Select option. In this example, I was fully expecting the software to fail miserably while trying to select such a complex range of tones - the sky through these palm trees and feathery She Oak branches (top left). I was wrong, as the software selected the sky, with about 95% accuracy. However, the very low contrast headland off in the far distance were not selected (because I think the contrast was too low) but otherwise this was an exceptional result.

As already mentioned, I was 100% ready for this selection to fail - but it was a resounding success with just a tiny bit of the distant landmass being missed (see inset). I repaired this using the ever-useful Selection Brush, before deleting the old sky and replacing it with a new background...
