Menu item options
The options to configure a menu item vary depending on the menu item type. Each menu item type, like those discovered in the previous section, provides a specific set of options in addition to the standard configuration options provided by Joomla itself.
To explore the available options, let’s start by selecting a specific menu item type: Single Article. Based on this selection, the menu item creation screen changed, immediately showing additional fields, tabs, and buttons, as shown in Figure 5.10.

The additional field that appeared is Select Article, which shows two buttons:
- Select: Allows you to choose an article from existing ones. The article selection screen provides search and filter functionality to find the desired article.
- Create: Opens the new article creation screen so that you can write a new article and connect the menu item to it.
