Installing GlassFish

GlassFish 5.0 is distributed as a zip file; installing GlassFish is as simple as extracting the zip file to a directory of our choosing.

GlassFish assumes some dependencies are present in your system.

In order to install GlassFish 5, a recent Java SE version must be installed on your workstation (Java SE 8 required), and the Java executable must be in your system PATH. Java SE 8 can be downloaded at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html.
