Chapter 9. Extending the Sametime Environment: Connecting to Sametime Advanced and Sametime Gateway

At this point perhaps you have installed Sametime 8.5.2. Two add-on products, Sametime Advanced and Sametime Gateway, allow you to provide more features and functionality for your users and your organization while still maintaining a secure and stable environment. In this chapter, an overview will be provided for connecting your Sametime 8.5.2 environment to Sametime Advanced and Sametime Gateway servers. The following are the examples of deployment scenarios:

• Giselle is interested in extending Sametime chat to other networks. She has read that she can connect her Sametime Community to Google Talk and AOL by adding a Sametime Gateway to her Sametime environment.
