Planning for the WAS environment
As we have mentioned in previous chapters, WAS acts as the underlying architecture for many of the Sametime 8.5.2 server components. As part of your planning checklist, you need to consider what is required for WAS as well as Sametime:

Many of the Sametime server components will live happily side-by-side on a shared server. It is even possible for all of the server components including the Domino Community Server and DB2 to be installed on a single server for a small or pilot deployment. Deciding which servers to install on a single piece of hardware and which servers to separate onto different hardware is a decision based on your choice of services and requirements for clustering.
