Summary

In this chapter, you learned about functional programming and data structures, and the terminology associated with them. We started the chapter by covering the basic concepts associated with functional programming, such as pure functions, immutability, and so on. We then gradually moved towards typed FP, or pure FP, and covered the basics of the Arrow framework. Finally, you learned details about functor, applicative, and monad, after a short introduction to category theory and why it is important.
