Azure Firewall
A firewall is a network security service that acts as a gatekeeper, allowing only authorized traffic to flow based on certain configured rules and policies. Firewalls are designed to protect your networked resources from threats. Azure Firewall is an Azure-native firewall offering. All stock keeping units (SKUs) offered are stateful firewalls and are designed for scale. When it comes to network security in Azure, NSGs are considered a basic-level firewall. However, sometimes a solution is required that has more granular control over traffic, or a smarter firewall with more functionality is required; this is where Azure Firewall is recommended.
