Putting it all into practice – 2019
As a senior leader, my role is an exciting and challenging blend of technical, cultural, and political leadership, building and leading an SRE organization from scratch in a traditional non-tech native company. The day-to-day experiences I face while pioneering this transformation form a dynamic and fulfilling journey.
The dawn of transformation: Each day, I commence by revisiting the inception of our journey. With only eight of us at the start, we ventured to bring change into a traditionally inclined company, an environment where embracing modern technological practices wasn’t the norm. This initial phase was critical in establishing a growth mindset within our team, preparing them for the impending challenges and responsibilities. It was our time to disrupt the status quo and lay the groundwork for a future-ready SRE organization.
