Service brokers
By now, you may be thinking, how can one get their service published in the marketplace and how does it all work together? The key component to this is through a service broker. A service broker is responsible for most, if not all, aspects of the life cycle of services in the marketplace. They are responsible for publishing the services and plans offered, performing service provisioning when requested, binding applications to service instances and, potentially, vice-versa when unbinding and deprovisioning. Service brokers are deployed within an Org and be configured to be a restricted space. An implementation of a service broker is an application that implements the service broker API.
