Summary
This chapter put into practice the concepts covered earlier in the book by looking at design patterns for telco and industrial segments.
Telcos can build a flexible and efficient 5G core by separating the control plane and user plane functions, which can be deployed as CNFs on the hybrid cloud. The 5G RAN can be architected as a set of disaggregated, cloud-native applications that are distributed geographically. Telcos can also build a modular OSS/BSS solution that’s distributed across the hybrid cloud instead of a monolithic solution deployed in a private data center. This approach allows telcos to support a wide range of 5G use cases without additional operational complexities and costs. By leveraging application platform management tools, telcos can easily orchestrate, operate, and monitor each layer of network.
The industrial design pattern showed how companies in the industrial sector can manage their OT resources in a secure and standardized manner using...
