SQL Server In-Memory feature is unique in the database world. The reason is very simple; because it is built-in to the databases' engine itself. It is not a separate database solution and there are some major benefits of this. One of these benefits is that in most cases you don't have to rewrite entire SQL Server applications to see performance benefits. On average, you will see 10x more speed while you are testing the new In-Memory capabilities.
