Chapter 4: Securing Access to Data
In this chapter, you will learn about the features and capabilities that exist in the Lightning platform to restrict and extend access to objects, fields, and records; and understand how data security in the platform is applied using a number of layers.
You will understand the key difference between object security, field-level security, and record sharing; and how, with the use of object-level permissions, organization-wide defaults, and sharing settings, appropriate access to records can be configured.
You will gain the knowledge to be able to view and create permission sets and profiles that serve to control object and field-level access and how and when to assign profiles and permission sets.
Finally, you will be presented with a number of questions about securing access to data using object, record, and field-level data access features and capabilities in the Lightning Platform.
