To create the S2S VPN, we are going to connect the VPN gateway with the on-premises environment we created earlier with RRAS enabled on it. This will serve as a compatible VPN device.
To be able to complete this step, we need the public IP address of the on-premises environment. I used VMware for this demonstration and set it up in bridged mode. This way, the public IP address of your provider is used. You can check the public IP address using multiple tools, such as https://www.whatsmyip.org/.
Creating the local network gateway
First, we need to create a local network gateway. This refers to the on-premises location where we have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed with RRAS enabled.
