Chapter 4. Handling Scripting and App-V Command Lines
Every IT professional, at some stage in their career, will ask or be asked this question: Is there any way we can automate that process? If we've never worked with scripts, we probably won't have a proper answer.
Handling scripts and automation processes can sound like an impossible thing to do, for some IT professionals; but, the truth is that scripting or the command line does not offer us a complexity beyond the technology itself. The real complexity resides in understanding the environment and the components we are working on.
The App-V architecture forces every application to work inside a "bubble", where it interacts with the operating system, but the operating system cannot modify or edit this virtual environment; this is necessary for maintaining the idea of application virtualization.
