Summary
In this chapter, we reviewed additional areas and next-generation features to incorporate into baseline controls that complement a Windows security baseline. Taking a holistic approach to security is key for improving your overall hardening and establishing a robust layer of protection for your endpoints. We covered baseline recommendations from CIS and Microsoft for Edge and Chrome, and how to manage sign-in settings and control extensions. We provided examples of the different methods for delivering policies using Intune with Intune security baselines, the settings catalog, and ADMX ingestion for managing third-party apps. We discussed the importance of protecting Microsoft 365 apps and provided an overview of using the Office cloud policy service in the Microsoft 365 Apps admin center.
