Slack is the acronym of Searchable Log of All Conversation and Knowledge and it is a collaboration tool widely used by small and large teams to share information, documentation, and ideas. Slack, at a glance, offers the following:
- Chat rooms: Public or private, the chat rooms allow team mates to discuss any topic without interfering with other people. A channel is persistent, can have a topic, and anyone invited can take part in it.
- Direct messages: People can send direct messages to other people or groups so that they can have private direct conversations.
- Integrated searches: Everything in Slack is searchable, from the messages shared in a chat, to the files uploaded to it, and to the people we dealt with; and this is probably one of the most interesting features of this platform.
