Summary
In this chapter we gave you a sneak look at administration by showing you a bit of what an Institutional Administrator can do. We also looked at Mahara from a tutor's/staff member's point of view, showing and illustrating what these roles are able to do differently to a standard Mahara member. This allowed us to see how Mahara can be used to develop an assessment process, with views being submitted to tutors for marking. We learned about managing our members as an Institutional Administrator, discovered what a Course Group is and learned how a Course Group differs from a Standard Group. We started to explore the roles and responsibilities of Tutors, worked through the process of submitting work for assessment and releasing it back to a student, and introduced some ideas for how you can use all of these features to develop an assessment process in Mahara.
