Running apps in Windows
Now, we want to review some concepts to run our app on a specific Microsoft Windows platform. We are going to take the app and run it in Windows.
Getting ready
We need an app to run. For this purpose, let's use the app from the last recipe. Also, it would be useful to read the recipe Running your code in Chapter 1, Kivy and the Kv Language to understand how we personalize the app for running Microsoft Windows.
How to do it…
We now want to know how to run our app from the Command Prompt and give the correct size. To make this possible, let's follow these steps:
Run
kivy.bat
.Locate the directory that has the files,
e2.py
andGOR.mov
, something like:C:\Users\Me\Documents\e2app\
Open the file
e2.py
in your favorite editor.After imports lines, add the following lines:
from kivy.core.window import Window Window.system_size=(600,500)
In the Prompt, run the app:
C:\Users\Me\Documents\e2app> python e2.py
