Hardware configuration
We are now going to assemble the project. The hardware is really simple here, as we only want to test the connection between the project and our own cloud server we'll deploy later in this chapter.
Simply place the ESP8266 board on your breadboard, and then connect the FTDI breakout board to it.
For the LED, simply connect it in series with the resistor, with the longest pin of the LED connected to the resistor. Then, connect the remaining pin of the resistor to pin 5 of the ESP8266 board, and the remaining pin of the LED to the GND pin.
Once this is done, simply put the DHT11 sensor on the breadboard. Then, connect the left pin to VCC, the right pin to, and the pin next to VCC to pin 4 on your ESP8266 chip.
