Sample deployment scenarios


As you can see, there are a number of different ways you can implement your LDAP directory and authentication in Sametime 8.5.2. To help clarify the previous information, we will go over a few typical scenarios you might use in your environment.

Domino Directory as LDAP

The simplest and most common deployment scenario is to use a Domino Directory for authentication through an LDAP interface provided by the Domino server running the LDAP server task.

As an existing Sametime administrator using Domino for your Sametime directory, you may now want to extend the Sametime install to include other WAS-based Sametime 8.5.2 components such as the Meeting Server or Media Manager. Before you can do this, you must first change your Community Server to use LDAP instead of the Domino Directory for authentication as previously discussed. You will need to configure a server in your Domino domain to run LDAP in order to make its directory LDAP-accessible.
