Summary

In this chapter, you have reviewed the Instructor role. The primary task of an instructor is to deliver the (face-to-face or virtual) classroom activities. These classroom activities are time-bound synchronous activities that require learners and instructors to be together either in a physical location or online.

This implies a whole new level of complexity and logistical constraints, such as scheduling courses, managing the waitlist, arranging the venue, sending practical details to learners in a timely fashion, sending reminders before the session, ensuring that everyone has the required video conferencing software installed, and reporting attendance to the LMS. Although Learning Manager cannot accomplish all of these tasks on its own, it provides instructors with features designed to help them manage the logistical, administrative, and pedagogical aspects of these synchronous activities.
