Capital One – transforming banking through technology

Capital One is an American bank holding company headquartered in McLean, Virginia with operations primarily in the United States. It is one of the top 10 banks in the US by measure of total assets under management (AUM) and is the third largest issuer of Visa and Mastercard credit cards. Starting as a monoline bank with credit cards, Capital One expanded operations into auto loans and in 2005 entered the retail banking market. Capital One has been a disruptor in the financial services industry since the 1990s when it quickly identified that there was very little differentiation in the credit card services industry.
