Summary
In this chapter, we focused on how organizations can build a robust, open, and agile foundation for a cloud-ready enterprise that can support current and future business demands. We explored the four stages of a cloud adoption framework, namely assess, plan, deploy, and optimize, and the key constituents in each stage that can provide a structured approach to a cloud transformation initiative. We also discussed, in detail, the various hybrid and multi-cloud deployment patterns that enterprises can adopt, with a particular focus on organizations that have a heavy on-premises IT footprint, acknowledging the challenges with cloud adoption.
