In this chapter, we explored the various challenges that enterprises face with cloud adoption and digital transformation. Enterprises embarking on cloud adoption journeys encounter a spectrum of challenges that demand strategic planning and thoughtful implementation. Navigating these hurdles ensures that cloud adoption becomes a transformative force for innovation and efficiency rather than a source of unexpected complications.

We also discussed how enterprises can identify and choose the right cloud strategy to modernize IT—through the example of a retailer’s e-commerce application—while also exploring the various cloud transformation strategies. In addition, we discussed the various aspects that enterprises must assess and evaluate while choosing a cloud provider.

Finally, we discussed how to handle the new financial models introduced by the cloud and realize financial viability and value through cloud adoption.
