Navigating iMovie with keyboard shortcuts
The fastest way to navigate any NLE is to learn and use the keyboard shortcuts for its menu commands. The sheer number of them might seem overwhelming at first, but when you’ve used them for a while, the process will begin to feel natural, and you’ll be dancing over the keyboard like a virtuoso piano player. This section will go over some of the most useful shortcut commands in iMovie for macOS. The shortcuts are listed by what they do: file and project actions, timeline and menu navigation, and editing tools. Make sure to drag some clips into the timeline from your iMovie Library or events. Then, play along with each of these shortcuts; it’s the best way to become familiar with them.
