In this chapter, we began with learning about different types of permissions in Linux systems and how to manage them using numbers as well as using symbols. Then we learned about the managing of file ownership using the chown and chgrp commands. This was followed by understanding special permissions for executable and directories. Then we learned how to manage default permissions. Finally, we looked at how to view, set, and delete ACLs on files and directories in CentOS 7.
In the next chapter, we will learn about process management in CentOS 7. Process management is an essential skill that is required to manage your system resources. It will lay the solid foundation for optimizing system performance.
