BCDR Definitions
BCDR is a set of practices that support an organization’s ability to remain operational and recover from adverse events such as cyberattacks, system failure or outages, natural disasters, and other disruptions.
Cloud computing, by its nature, offers significant advantages in terms of redundancy and data distribution across multiple locations, which can inherently bolster an organization’s resilience to disruptions. However, the dependence on cloud-based services also introduces unique vulnerabilities, such as data loss due to cyberattacks, service interruptions from technical failures, or downtime resulting from natural disasters affecting data center regions.
