Summary

In this chapter, we looked at a solution for developing a Web API that targets mobile developers. Azure Mobile Services provides an umbrella set of services that saves the developer from recurring tasks in mobile development, such as notifications and data operations. With seamless integration and tooling support in Visual Studio, Mobile Services can be quickly created and deployed for a variety of clients such as Windows, iOS, and Android.

The first two chapters were an introduction to the ASP.Web API and Microsoft Azure platform support for building and deploying scalable Web APIs. In the next chapter, we will look at advanced features of the ASP.NET Web API framework and how it provides first-class support for the HTTP protocol.
