Creating our Ionic Vue mobile app project

We can create our Ionic Vue project by installing the Ionic CLI. First, we must install the Ionic CLI by running the following command:

npm install -g @ionic/cli

Then, we must create our Ionic Vue project by going to the folder where we want our project folder to be running. We can do this with the following command:

ionic start calculator-app sidemenu --type vue

The sidemenu option lets us create an Ionic project with a side menu added to its pages. This will save us time with we're creating the menus and pages. The --type vue option lets us create an Ionic Vue project.

We can get help with all the options and look at an explanation of each by using the following commands:

  • ionic –help
  • ionic <command> --help
  • ionic <command><subcommand> --help

We should run ionic <command> --help in our project directory.
