Working with Sensors: All About Inputs!
This is going to be a fun chapter! Adding interactive elements to our wearables can be done with sensors. Sensors are used to listen to the world around us. In this chapter, we discover what sensors can be added to our projects, what protocols we use to add them to our circuits, and how we can use the data they provide. Most of the wearables we create will sense something – our touch, the sound, the light, and so on.
In this chapter, you will learn about the types of sensors we can include in our wearable designs to input information into our system. This input is then used to create a reaction or response. For example, we might use a temperature sensor to collect temperature data, and when the temperature reaches a programmed level, to provide heat or cooling to the body. We will also look at some alternative ways to use a sensor.
By the end of this chapter, you will understand and be able to use sensors in your wearables. Also...
