Technical requirements

In this chapter, we explain how to change the configuration of Mermaid. In order to try these examples, you will need the necessary tools. To use directives, you can use any editor that supports Mermaid version 8.6.0 or later. A good editor for trying out directives is the Mermaid Live Editor, which can be found online and does not require any additional installations; all you need is a browser. The easiest way to experiment with changing the configuration at a site-wide level is to continue with the example in the section Adding Mermaid to a simple web page from Chapter 2, How to Use Mermaid.

Also, a subset of the directive configuration options will be described in this chapter, but not all of them. A full list of configuration options is provided at the end of this book in Appendix: Configuration Options.
