Adding the joints
By creating and using a template to make the joints, we can be confident that the joint shapes will align from piece to piece while also saving time by not needing to recreate each solid and hole sphere shape needed for every joint. Using the template made in the last section, we can now create interlocking joints on our puzzle pieces through the following steps:
- First, separate the puzzle pieces, as shown in Figure 18.14. We can also move the center Polygon piece off to the side as we will not be needing it for the next few steps.

- Make a copy of the shapes used in the joint template we made in the last section and move them so the shapes align with the face of a piece that connects to another piece, as shown in Figure 18.15.
