Blogging and search engine optimization

Blogging is one of the biggest areas of opportunity when it comes to helping people find your website via search tools such as Google. Here’s a brief list of things to keep in mind when adding content to your blog with the hopes of attracting traffic:

  • Keywords: Long gone are the days when the simple act of stuffing keywords onto your site was the best way to rank the topics people search for. Instead, use your keywords deliberately and in combination throughout your content for the biggest impact
  • URLs: Give your blog post a clear and easy-to-understand URL related to the title of your post. Each post URL should also have your keywords in it, ideally in a clear and readable format – for example, /updates/stock-photography
  • Tags: Adding tags to your blog posts will help search engines more easily parse the content of your blog posts, positioning them properly for users looking for your keywords
