A look at platforms

A component, along together its pack file, makes a platform. A platform consists of everything needed to install the component including the dependencies, the backend scripts, the data required install and monitor the component, including the information required for repairing and scaling it. This pairing of a component and pack to make a platform is created after the CMS sync.
