Assigning, Changing, or Removing a Phone Number for a User or a Resource Account
So far, you have covered choosing a phone solution, working with emergency addresses and policies, and ordering and porting numbers. This section will focus specifically on managing phone number assignments to users and resource accounts. Common scenarios for these actions include onboarding new employees, reassigning numbers due to role changes, and removing numbers when employees leave an organization. Note that you can only manage numbers you get from Microsoft and not those assigned via Direct Routing.
To view your user-type phone numbers, go to the Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com) and select Voice | Phone numbers from the left navigation menu. Here, you will see all the phone numbers in your organization that have been ordered or ported.
You can assign phone numbers to users in the Teams admin center by either going to Voice | Phone numbers or Users.
