Restricting sharing to specific domains
Restricting sharing to specific domains in SharePoint and OneDrive for Business is a security measure used to control external sharing by limiting interactions to approved or blocked domains. This setup helps organizations protect sensitive information while still enabling necessary external collaboration.
Getting ready
In order to follow the steps in this recipe, you must be either a Global or SharePoint Administrator.
How to do it…
- Access the SharePoint admin center by logging in to the Microsoft 365 admin center at https://admin.microsoft.com. On the left navigation menu, under Admin centers, find and select SharePoint.
- Select Policies | Sharing from the left navigation menu.
- Under More external sharing settings, check the box for Limit external sharing by domain, then select the Add domains button that appears as shown in Figure 6.9.
