In the latest Horizon 7 version releases, VMware has added support for newer operating systems, virtual infrastructures, and other software applications. These are as follows:
- Support for Windows Server 2019 (including RDSH support)
- Support for VMware vSphere 6.7 Update 1
- Support for VMware vSAN 6.7 Update 1
- The ability to upgrade the Horizon Cloud Connector (used for VMware on AWS)
- Support for IPv6 with the VMware virtualization pack for Skype
There have also been a number of improvements and new features when using VMware Cloud on AWS to run Horizon. These are as follows:
- The minimum size cluster has now been reduced to 3
- Support for vSphere stretched clusters
- Support for NSX-T and VMware vSAN datastore encryption
