Technical requirements
In this chapter, you'll need the GCC compiler and Make tool. We installed these tools in Chapter 1, Getting the Necessary Tools and Writing Our First Linux Programs.
You will also need a new program called pstree
for this chapter. You can install it with your package manager. If you are using Debian or Ubuntu, you can install it with sudo apt install psmisc
. If, on the other hand, you are using Fedora or CentOS, you can install it with sudo dnf install psmisc
.
You will also need the generic Makefile
we wrote in Chapter 3, Diving Deep into C in Linux. The Makefile is also available on GitHub, together with all the code samples for this chapter, at https://github.com/PacktPublishing/Linux-System-Programming-Techniques/tree/master/ch6.
