What you should remember from this chapter is that Apex is the proprietary Java-like language of the Salesforce1 Platform. It is strongly typed, case insensitive, and uses single quotes. All statements must end with a semicolon in order to compile. Apex is different from other languages in that it is metadata aware and requires unit testing to be distributed and used in Production environments.
