Summary

In this chapter, we have unleashed the power of containerization technology. Containers are expanding and becoming a very hot topic by helping IT organizations to make a transition towards the next application deployment trend. We have explored how OpenStack has empowered its ecosystem by providing a CaaS as a new and exciting managed service that combines the major benefits of container orchestration engines in its core. The Magnum project automates the deployment and configuration of container clusters running different models of container orchestration engines. We have reviewed each of the COEs supported by Magnum, including Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and Mesos.
