Technical requirements

You will need the following tools for the exercises in this chapter:

• Access to an Azure subscription with owner or contributor privileges. If you do not have access to one, you can set up a student account for free: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/.
• PowerShell 5.1 or later installed on a Windows PC, or PowerShell Core 6.x if another operating system is being used.
• For Windows users, you will need to install .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later using the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install
• Where PowerShell is not installed or available, https://shell.azure.com can be used as a browser-based shell.
• The Az PowerShell module needs to be installed, which can be done by running the following in an administrative PowerShell session:

  Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope CurrentUser
  Install-Module -Name Az -Scope CurrentUser -Repository PSGallery -Force
