Using KPIs for FinOps practices

We have already prepared the ground by introducing what a KPI is and presented, as an example, a FinOps KPI dedicated to rightsizing initiatives. We have also defined a methodology to design and implement our own KPIs alongside some more examples of KPIs in each category.

It is time to put all this knowledge to use in the FinOps domain. In this section, we will go through the whole process of defining a FinOps KPI, following the phases that were described in the previous sections. With these examples, we seek to achieve the most difficult part of the learning process, which is to put the ideas and concepts we have covered on paper into practice to make it truly useful for our readers.

To close this section, we will also provide other KPI examples in each of the categories to serve as a starting point to build up your own KPIs in the future.
