Social media and targeted advertising

Understanding how adversaries use social media and targeted advertisements to influence opinion or make recipients follow links is an interesting avenue to explore. This technique and similar ones are successfully applied by real adversaries at a large scale to manipulate public opinion.

At a very small scale, this could be targeting your organization as well. A feasibility test could involve the goal to reach certain members in the organization via an ad. This could be as simple as a targeted message to reach someone, for example, Hello Mr. Vice President <name goes here>! or Dear Blue Team. Greetings, Mallory, as a benign proof of concept.
