Retrospectives

The easiest way to explain retrospectives is that they are like lessons-learned meetings but are held by the team and for the team only. The goal of reflection is to look back and make changes going forward, and that is exactly what the retrospectives are for. Typically, a retrospective will last about two to three hours and happen directly after Sprint reviews, but before the next Sprint planning meeting.

The team will have in-depth discussions based on three distinct questions.

What should we:

  • Stop doing?
  • Start doing?
  • Keep doing?

This information helps plan the next iteration and promotes continuous improvement.
