Overview of infrastructure security

The traditional approach to cybersecurity used to be build a bigger wall and a bigger moat, but this did not always keep people out. Unfortunately, in this day and age, if someone really wants to get into a system, they are likely to get in. When working with Microsoft, there are two fundamental things they will tell you:

• You are in the fight, whether you thought you were or not.
• You have almost certainly already been penetrated.

This is not meant to be a scare tactic from Microsoft. but more a view on the reality of systems today. That having been said, Microsoft does have a clear vision on security for Azure Stack Hub. This is defined by Microsoft with the following statement:

Provide our customers with a similar level of security and protection to Azure, while running Azure Stack Hub in hostile environments.
