Different types of data will require different services. AWS has solutions for all types of data with features that enable us to store classic block-level data, static web content, files, and solutions that emulate tape-based storage and help us efficiently transfer huge petabyte and exabyte datasets between our on-premises environment and AWS regions. The solutions available in AWS are the following:
- Amazon EBS and Instance Store (discussed in Chapter 5, Managing Servers on AWS with Elastic Compute Cloud)
- Amazon S3 and Glacier (discussed in Chapter 7, Understanding Simple Storage Service and Glacier)
- Amazon Elastic File System (EFS)
- Amazon Storage Gateway
- Amazon Snowball and Snowmobile
