A brief introduction to generative AI
Generative AI is a subset of AI that generates new content, data, or information based on learning from existing datasets. Unlike traditional AI, which is primarily designed for analysis and decision-making, generative AI is about creation. While regression estimates a continuous value based on correlated inputs and classification estimates the most likely label from mapped inputs, generative AI creates new data samples resembling the training data distribution by estimating many values simultaneously.
Consequently, generative AI operates through understanding patterns, styles, or features from large datasets and then using this learned information to generate new, similar data.
