Adding Our Web Part to a Page


The Web Part has now been deployed to the server. Next it needs to be added to a Web Part Page to see all the pieces come together.

  1. 1. Start Internet Explorer and browse to your favorite WSS site (making sure you have designer permissions on the site).

  2. 2. Click the Modify Shared Page link and choose Add Web Parts | Browse:

  3. 3. You will now see the Tool Pane with a list of Web Part Libraries. Select the Virtual Server Gallery:

  4. 4. Click on the Extensible MCMS Page Navigation Web Part and drag it into any Web Part Zone on the left-hand side of your screen. You should see the following:

    Note

    If the Extensible MCMS Page Navigation Web Part does not appear in the Virtual Server Gallery, redeploy the Web Part to the server using the method outlined in Executing the Deployment verifying that no errors occur during the stsadm.exe –o addwppack command.

    If the error message An error has occurred appears, verify the trust level settings in the Web.config are sufficient...
