Chapter 5: Main Studio Panels and Managers

Welcome to the fifth chapter of Up and Running with Affinity Designer.

In this chapter, we are going to get more familiar with Affinity Designer's main Studio panels and managers. Studio panels allow you to get the most out of Affinity Designer's powerful toolset with options and features for adjusting color and effects, utilizing vector and raster brushes, and applying text and type to your documents. Managers allow you to organize and streamline design aids such as guides, grids, snapping, and other resources.

There are many panels in Affinity Designer. In this chapter, we'll start to focus on the Studio panels that will relate to us the most for the type of work we will be taking on in the three exercise chapters, while other panels will be covered as we need them or come across them.

We'll first look at panel behavior, and then we'll begin exploring the main Studio panels' specific uses and functionality...
