An overview of an application
In order to examine a control challenge in detail, we would need to explore an application in any relevant industry. In the following subsections, we will look into some applications, such as textile and newspaper printing applications.
An overview of textile applications
That perfect outfit that you love to wear starts with cotton being made into yarn. This yarn then is woven into a fabric, which then is used to prepare garments. There are so many elements in a production line that are involved in this process, such as spinning, sizing, warping, weaving, printing, dyeing, and inspection, among others. An overview of the elements in the textile production line is provided in Figure 3.4:
